It's been a very interesting year, so far, in American politics.Maybe we'll soon see some life insurance reform in the near future.
Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords: "Democratic Representative Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona was shot in the head this afternoon at an Arizona Grocery store. She is in "very critical" condition, but is expected to survive."
John Wheeler III: "Sanitation workers spotted the body of 66-year-old John Wheeler III falling from a refuse truck as it dumped its load Friday at the Cherry Island landfill near Wilmington."
Ashley Turton, director of congressional affairs for Progress Energy "was found dead in a burning car Monday morning in Washington, Politico reports. Turton's husband is White House deputy director of House legislative affairs, Dan Turton.
"According to the Washington Post, 'a preliminary investigation indicated that the car crashed into the garage of a home in the 800 block of A Street SE.'"
Dedicated to the memory of the greatest coincidence theorist of them all, Peter Jennings, who -- during live coverage of the World Trade Center buildings smoldering just after the plane strikes on September 11, 2001 -- wondered aloud if maybe the two buildings being struck on the same day, at nearly the same time was just coincidence. Jennings wondered if two different, unconnected "lone nuts" had perpetrated 911, each high-jacking their own commercial jet with exactly the same idea and target in mind. His musings were quickly interrupted by another commentator.

Actually the texting transcript (would that be called a textscript?) was just released. Apparently a terrorist on the first plane was texting the other plane to "back off, the glory is for me alone."
The terrorist on the second plane responded: "Bob is that you??"
We can only guess if it was Bob, and if indeed they knew each other. But it is clear from the textscript they were separate attacks.
