From the LA Times: "WASHINGTON— A U.S. official says Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden has been buried at sea."
As the wreckage of the World Trade Center buildings were cleared from Ground Zero in record time, locked away in secure scrap yards and then hastily sold to Third World countries, so too has the body of Osama Bin Laden been tidily dispatched to the watery depths.
From the PR masterminds who gave us the Iraq War predicated on "weapons of mass destruction," comes "Osama Bin Laden has been killed" . . . and buried at sea.
But what about verification that it was, indeed, Osama Bin Laden?
From the AP: "Senior administration officials said the DNA testing alone offered near 100 percent certainty that bin Laden was in fact shot dead."
This from the people who convinced the American public that Saddam Hussein was behind the 9/11 attacks.
From ABC News: "A senior administration official tells my colleague Jake Tapper this about the body: 'We are ensuring it is handled in accordance with Islamic practice and tradition. It's something we take seriously and therefore it's being handled in an appropriate manner.'"
"It's something we take seriously".
Really? I'm sure all the civilian dead killed in US drone attacks in Pakistan and Afghanistan would find this hard to believe.
Hell, I find it hard to believe.
This from a country that doesn't respect the sovereignty of other nations, the Geneva Convention's articles against torture, nor its own Constitution.
But when it comes to dealing with the dead body of Osama Bin Laden, all the rules must be followed!
The Credibility Gap may have finally caught up to the American corporate media and American military and intelligence officials.
Nobody believes any longer the little country that cried "terrorism!"
